Cursed Eastern European allergens ruining your pancake conquest! I hope you managed to eat stacks and stacks of flapjacks since then! As a fan of different bands and music, reading about the events of tour life is always intriguing, and thank you for being open and raw about "the life". I read all of Neil Peart's books (which I highly recommend) about travel and tour life and it's refreshing to read your testimonials of life on the road. Dog days of summer include catching up on shows like Silo (awesome series, Sci fi dystopia drama), watching Barbenheimer (recommend both, Barbie was better than I thought it would be) , and anticipating watching 2/4 of Pantera and 3/4 Metallica in the near future (Cliff Burton will always be THE bassist to me, although Rob's tarantula playing style is fun to watch live). Hoping to make the Halloween Mexico City stop to see yous guys 🖤
Thankfully I found some 'cakes at a continental b back in Germany. I'm gonna check out the Neil Peart books, I haven't come across those before. Thanks for the recommendation! Hope we'll see you in CMX too! 😊
First, love the jetlagbedheadselfie. Wow, you had to power through without the magical healing powers of pancakes, 🥞 lol. Sounds like it turned out alright. Looking forward to seeing y'all in November at Substance Festival.
Thanks for the candid narration of life on the road, meandering by a mining town like a Tolkien protagonist and somehow finding the energy to turn on the inspiration and perform day after day! And special thanks for the ghost cat!
Big hugs! I admire you tons, you’re doing great. I’m glad you’re finding some positive ways to feel stronger in those tough moments and day to day. I would say my calm exterior just has to do with experience. As tour manager it’s my responsibility to stay focused on my tasks or the van will stop, and we’d be standing around on the side of the road. Haha! Sometimes that means the hotel room is my place to get emotional or relieve stress. As an introvert, I find rest helps my equilibrium, so even if I miss out on sightseeing or socializing sometimes, I prioritize some quiet time to recharge and that makes a difference.
That’s great! Good luck with the sale and the upcoming art show. It’s nice to have a little downtime when we first get home to rest but we get back to work pretty quick to keep things rolling. Too much time off and the Post-Tour Blues™ set in (a longer topic for a future post!).
Welcome home! Plenty of quality pancakes here Shannon 🤍

Ze cakes. Yes favorite multiple read is Ghost Rider, by the ever reclusive but also rather retrospective Peart. Enjoy and good day eh!

All I wanted was a pancake, just one pancake... 😆
Can’t wait for Substance! See you there 🦇
